The Outwood Grange Academies Trust (OGAT) was borne out of the success of Outwood Grange, a large school of 2,200 students which has achieved record exam results every year for the past 10 years, culminating in 84% including English & Maths. Outwood Grange is an Outstanding school recognised by Ofsted – achieving all Grade 1s – and was one of the first National Leader of Education Support Schools.

We believe we have the capacity and the experience to inspire students and staff and bring about rapid and sustained improvement for the benefit of the Local Authority and community.

OGAT is a multi-academy sponsor and the Family of Schools currently comprises of a number of schools who work together to ensure that all children irrespective of their starting point receive an excellent education. We relish the opportunity to be part of the much needed regeneration of all areas we work in and wish to play a full role in the wider community.

We are proud to be part of the Outwood Family of Schools and welcome parents/carers and students who wish to join us on our journey to outstanding.

We currently take students from the following Middlesbrough Primary schools:
Pennyman Primary Academy
Brambles Primary Academy
Thorntree Primary School
Caldicotes Primary Academy
Pallister Park Primary School
Park End Primary School
Berwick Hills Primary School
North Ormesby Primary Academy
Ormesby Primary School
Overfields Primary School

We currently have places available for Y6 into Y7 from September 2016. If you would like your son/daughter to have the opportunity to join us please contact us directly on 01642 452191. We are more than happy to offer a tour of the school including visiting classrooms during the normal school working day.

Admissions to Outwood Academy Ormesby are controlled by Middlesbrough Local Authority.

If the number of preferences received for the Academy does not exceed the admission limit, all preferences will be met.

All applications received will be considered in the following order;

• All first preferences received by the closing date;
• All second preferences received by the closing date;
• All late preferences received will be considered after the above in the following order: first preferences then second preferences.

However, if there are more applications for admission to the school than there are places available, preference will be given to children in the following order:

a. Children who live in the catchment area and who, at the time of admission, have a statement of educational need, and are in the care of the Social Services Department

b.(i) Children who live in the Academy’s catchment area who have brothers or sisters attending the school at the time of admission
(ii) Other children who live in the Academy’s catchment area
(iii) Children who live in that part of the Academy’s catchment area which is designated as an option area.

c. Children who have brothers or sisters in attendance at the Academy

d. Children whose needs can, for specific reasons (e.g. medical, social), be met only at the Academy

e. Other children, with priority being given to those living nearest to the Academy.

In all categories, when decisions have to be made between children satisfying the same criteria, children living nearest to the Academy, measured as the crow flies, have priority.

Where a child resides with more than one parent/carer, the LA will take the address where the child lives the majority of the time during the school week as the main place of residence for determining the catchment area. Where both parents make a separate preference for admission, we will take the preference form from the parent where the child lives predominantly.
