Sue Maidens - Chair of Governors
Sue is the Chair of Outwood Ormesby’s Academy Council.
Sue’s original career was in nursing but later, having gained a first class honours degree from Teesside University as a mature student, she decided to move into teaching as she believed passionately in the education of young people.
Sue started her teaching career at Manor School in Hartlepool before moving to West Redcar School where she became became Head of English whilst also studying for a Masters Degree in Education with Durham University. Sue then moved to High Tunstall School in Hartlepool as Assistant Headteacher and later Deputy Headteacher.
On retiring from a career she had enjoyed very much Sue wanted to use the skills she had gained to continue supporting young people and their education and joined the governing body of Ormesby School in September 2013.
Sue was elected Chair of Governors in September 2014 and later worked very closely with the Headteacher to aid Ormesby School becoming part of the Outwood Grange Academies Trust.
She was re-elected as Chair of the Academy Council in September 2016 and continues to support the Academy and its young people in every way she can.
