Mark Hassack, Principal and National Leader of Education (NLE)

As an Executive Principal for Outwood Grange Academies Trust, Mark is the Principal of Outwood Academy Ormesby and Outwood Academy Acklam. He is also a National Leader of Education (NLE).
After graduating with a first class honours degree, Mark started his teaching career as a graduate teacher at Eston Park School in Middlesbrough. He stayed at the school for eight years and progressed through a number of roles: subject leader for ICT, head of business and ICT, head of the business communications faculty and latterly Assistant Headteacher with responsibility for Teaching and Learning. During this time, Mark took a lead role in the opening of a collaborative sixth form centre across three schools.
Mark was appointed by Outwood Grange Academies Trust in 2013 and has had the pleasure of working across a number of Outwood Academies. Under his leadership, Outwood Academy Acklam has improved significantly and outcomes for children have rapidly increased, with the school being placed in the top 5% nationally. In 2016, Mark was appointed to the OGAT executive team and was delighted to also become the Principal of Outwood Academy Ormesby.
Mark has also been designated by the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) as a National Leader of Governance (NLG).
