Karen graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor of Education degree in Physical Education and Curriculum Studies and then started her teaching career as a PE teacher at Swanwick Hall School in Derbyshire. She stayed at the school for only 3 years before relocating to the North East to take up appointment at Blakeston School in Stockton where she progressed through a number of roles: Head of Physical Education, Director of Specialism, Assistant Headteacher and Deputy Vice Principal when the school converted to North Shore Academy.
In 2014, she joined Ormesby School as Assistant Headteacher for Behaviour for Learning. A year later, she became an Assistant Principal for Deep Support when the school joined Outwood Grange Academies Trust and Ormesby School converted to Outwood Academy Ormesby. Karen has since been promoted to Vice Principal.
Karen is delighted to be working with the Outwood family of schools and she is passionate and enthusiastic about ensuring that students at Outwood Academy Ormesby achieve their very best and go onto fulfil their potential.
