“If you talk to a man in a language he understands, that goes to his head. If you talk to a man in his language that goes to his heart”Nelson Mandela
All students will learn French from year 7. The MFL course at Key Stage 3 provides students with the necessary skills and knowledge to access the GCSE course in Key Stage 4. During years 7 and 8 we develop the four skill areas – listening, speaking, reading and writing. Our aim is to provide exciting opportunities for students to develop their confidence, improve their independent learning skills and to foster a love of other languages and cultures. Students will be set homework on a regular basis using the Vocab Express website but we also encourage students to develop their language learning skills using other methods.
At Key Stage 4, we continue to build on students’ skills from Key Stage 3. Students complete AQA GCSE French. This new GCSE specification is assessed by final exams which test students on the four skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
